So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. Gal 4:7
Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor the fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and fields yield no food; though the flock be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills. Habbakuk 3:17-19
Dear National and Local friends,
We continue meditating upon Galatians this month. However, last Sunday night at our house meeting here, the Lord put a particular scripture passage on my heart for each individual in our meeting. Kim then asked someone to seek the Lord for a scripture for me. One person got Psalm 41, the other Habbakuk 3. Ps 41 has been personally healing for me. But the Lord made a big move last night at our Awakening of Love worship through Habbakuk 3:17-19. Right at the start the Lord signaled to Kim He wanted her to sing out the verses and He would give her a tune. Our musician Miriam sought the Holy Spirit, too and together Kim and Miriam flowed in spontaneous spiritual song of those verses. We all eventually joined in singing as He led us to shout “Jesus Victor!” three times over our city, nation, and Israel. He did many other wonderful things last night, but I’m left thinking today about the parallel between Habbakuk and his wicked context of prophesy and true believers in our wicked nation and straying churches. The Lord had His way with wicked Israel then, and He will have His way now. We may see awesome times or awful times ahead. Yes, let’s believe and pray His good things for our families, churches, nation, and Israel. But if things don’t turn out as we want, what is our bottom line? Will we trust Him, praise Him, follow Him—anyway? Answering this question with Him in your heart is very important right now. He’s getting you ready to run the next leg of His endurance race without fear or distraction. His ways are higher than our ways. Thank God. Jesus, Victor!
There is a growing sense of true confidence in meditating upon Galatians 4:4-7 and Habbakuk 3:17-19. At this present moment we hear Him say, “Trust in Me. Rejoice in Me. You are free to follow Me!”
Heb 12:1-2, continues in the background. Kim and I have been running our race together for almost 45 years, and the Come Rest leg of this race for almost 19. Fix your eyes upon Jesus. Shed the baggage. Get ready to run this next leg as He paces you. He’s right here to bring your “second wind.”
