SPECIAL JOINT MEETING TOMORROW: A decision has just been made to shift Kim’s extended family reunion to our home TOMORROW, July 26, instead of Bever Park–because of heat warnings. Sooo…we’ve prayerfully decided to have only one Come Rest gathering: 830-930 AM. NO EVENING MEETING.
We encourage everyone in the evening group to make a unique effort to come out in the morning. Feel free to arrive at 8am for coffee. We will start promptly at 830 and release promptly at 930 so you all can get to your respective church services. We need the house cleared by 10AM.
Kim and I know there is a lot going on in everyone’s lives in Come Rest, LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. We all need to receive a simple, deep word from the Lord and pray for each other!
We will make ZOOM option available, especially for those friends out of town, regionally and nationally. SEE ZOOM OPTION AT BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL!

I(Dick) have memorized the first three of my 12 passages in the Sword of the Spirit Challenge. I am now working on Rev. 2:8-11.His word to the persecuted church! Profound! It was SO GOOD to have memorized Ps 63, Phil 4:4-13, and Rev 2:1-7 before we began fighting off a virus for a while in June. While I was not feeling well, the most powerful thing I could do was pray out loud those three passages. The Holy Spirit took over and kept me going and recovering! What peace and strength in my weakness. Please pray for Kim and me in this. We are praying for you! As an overseer of this ministry, for accountability and prayer support, here’s my list of 12. (Ps 63, Phil 4:4-13; Rev 2 & 3; Ps 27; Matt 6; Col 3; Isaiah 58; 1 Cor 13; Eph 3; John 14 & 15; Romans 8; Matt 11:25-30)
“The Sword of the Spirit Homework Challenge” spreads! Thanks to those who are already sharing it personally and on social media! If you have begun, send us a two sentence testimony of what the Lord is doing with you and we will share it! Someone recently said, “I’m sorry, I know this challenge has been going a month, but I’m just waking up to it. I’m so behind.” My response was, “Be at peace, that’s the beautiful thing about this. You’re not behind at all. Your 6 months doesn’t begin until you do!” 😊 He is graciously handing us all His plan for following CLOSE BEHIND HIM on a silver platter—for the next six months—for the rest of our lives! Come Rest, indeed. Below is our video on the challenge! He’ll help you begin when you’re ready, and so will we! Kim and I will keep you posted on our progress!
A Word of Counsel heard from Him 4/7/26. We continue to submit it to all the friends of Come Rest. “Listen to Me. Really listen. Shut out the noise. Tune in to Me. Prepare. Make a list of your 12 favorite scripture passages from over the years between you and Me. Do the work. Make the list. Memorize them over the next six months. Work My words into your prayers and your witness each new day I give you. I will help you. You will become a deeper listener, prayer intercessor, and doer of My word. Are you up to it? I am! I repeat–Listen to Me. Prepare. Do the work. I will help you. It will be worth it. My joy and peace will overflow, no matter what. Those around you will begin to listen, too.
