The Lord shall reign forever and ever. Exodus 15:18

Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Psalm 63:3

Dear Friends,

We’re remembering when we were led to declare 2026 as a year to “Shine” in Him; that this year would involve battles of various sorts, but the Lord would lead us all from one shining victory to another. Victory is sweet because battles are bitter. We’ve been meditating upon the victory song of Moses in Exodus 15 this week. Near the end of the recounting of the Lord’s victory over Pharoah’s horses and riders, blazes forth verse 18. Before all battles, during all battles, after all battles—He reigns forever and ever. How about resting in that, in your battle?

Also, we remember several years ago led to meditate upon, and memorize, Psalm 63. This week we’re doing it again. Join us. So sweet. So refreshing. So necessary–as our family, maybe your family, certainly our nation and Israel—are all enduring various battles.

Also, I’m remembering Gethsemane this week; how the Lord won the battle by surrendering His will to His Father. Fully human, fully God, in agony for you and me and the whole world. Victory in Gethsemane begat victory on the Cross begat victory of the Empty Tomb…and all the shining victories leading up to this moment…and all the shining victories to come.

After almost 70 years of life, 47 years of ministry, 46 years of marriage, 42 years of parenting, 12 years of grandparenting—I’m overwhelmed by His patience, mercy, love, and power victorious in all my weaknesses, in all the battles. His lovingkindness is indeed better than life. Are you weary in the battle? The battle belongs to the Lord, and so do you. Surrender brings victory. His will, not yours, not mine, be done…forever and ever.

This includes fresh teaching by Dick Speight, selections from his three books, interspersed with times of quiet rest and solitude, and Kim’s tasty fellowship lunch where participants often begin or continue life changing friendships. SO many people have come and returned to our retreats, as well as invited friends and family members to try it out. This is the only one of our gatherings where a believer must apply in advance to attend. Each must agree with our simple Come Rest core statement of beliefs and commit to our guidelines for sharing space in our home.
