Dear National and Local Friends of Come Rest,
*Last night, our daughter-in-law Beth reported with joy that her friend’s mom in Chicago has been miraculously healed of cancer! Many weeks ago, Beth asked Kim and I to agree in prayer for a miraculous healing after doctors told her friend’s mother she had only 3 months to live. Theirs is a family of nominal or non-believers. We watched our granddaughter Mary for the day in Walcott to free Beth to drive into Chicago on December 6th to see her friend’s mom for possibly the last time—but also on a mission to witness to Christ and His love and power and hope. Beth shined as His witness. After the doctors told the woman her tumor was gone and their only explanation was a miracle, the woman’s little granddaughter asked her previously agnostic Dad, “Daddy, did Jesus heal Grandma?” He replied, “Yes, Jesus did!” Thank you, Jesus!
So then I had a dream last night highlighting the number “17” which is the Hebrew biblical number for “victory.” More about this later, but for now, let’s agree 2026 will be a great year of many victories for the Lord as we rest in His love and bear witness to Him as the Light! Shout victory, in Jesus’ name over your life and sphere of influence! Do not lose heart! Believe you will see His victories in 2026! Your job is to shine. Jesus then decides what wonderful, mysterious, way He will move in response to your shining! The good news He is always shining, always moving for His glory and our good!
