Dear Friends,
We are now off and will not resume Come Rest ministries until June 5th, with our Awakening of Love that evening at CLC. Sunday Groups will resume here June 7th. Today we begin the privilege of hosting Kim’s Mom for the next 8 days, plus other extended family gatherings, and then some much needed rest days. We will not return or send ministry calls, texts, or emails until June 5th. We treasure your prayers for us and our family during this time. We pray life abundant over you and yours, in Jesus’ name! Until June 5th, Shalom!
SO, how about some lighthearted perspective on your life so far into 2026? As I was about to finish this letter, daughter Emily texted this photo of her kids rehearsing a scene for a movie they’re making with neighbor kids. This photo is entitled, “OGRE BOW”. Without getting into the hilarious details of their storytelling, suffice it to say the Lord made sure this photo (Caleb 11, Micah 12, Grant 6, Truly 8, Grace 3) was just in time to send to you in your story now. He wants you to take Him so seriously that you stop taking life and yourself too seriously! If He is God, Your God, why worry? Despite your flaws, sins, and this embattled world—He’s not going to let the enemy destroy you or your loved ones. He is Your Risen, Reigning, Returning Lord. Yes, He knows you have troubles but be of good cheer—He has overcome the world. His grace is sufficient for you, His strength made perfect in your weakness. Satan and his ogres shoot arrows, but at the right time the Lord always shoots His arrow and wins.
Remember the word we saw over 2026, “Shine”? He would radiate His light through you, from one shining victory to another—His way, not yours. Battles won with His help. He would guide you to shine. In late winter He said, “Watch, Pray, Seek Me, Stay Thankful.” Since early spring, He has this ministry camped in Psalm 63, all about seeking Him! When He has us camp, it’s preparing for victorious warfare. Notice now the linkage between vs 8-10 and His very recent “Sword of the Spirit Homework Challenge”! Your enemies fall by His SWORD—active in your hands through prayers and witness. Where do your enemies fall? Hopefully, the human ones fall to their knees in repentance, before it’s too late. Regardless, we do not fear what man can do to us; we fear the Lord. Eventually, the enemy, Satan and all demonic spirits, will fall into the lake of fire forever. Until then their attacks always fall away as you submit to Jesus, following closely behind Him—wielding the written word of God, the Sword of the Spirit. Never forget Jesus resisted Satan victoriously in the wilderness, saying, “It is written…”

Someone in our local ministry sheepishly just said, “I’m sorry, I know this challenge has been going a month, but I’m just waking up to it. I’m so behind.” My response was, “Be at peace, that’s the beautiful thing about this. You’re not behind at all. Your 6 months doesn’t begin until you do!” 😊 (over)
He is graciously handing us all His plan for following CLOSE BEHIND HIM on a silver platter—for the next six months—for the rest of our lives! Come Rest, indeed.

A Word of Counsel heard from Him 4/7/26. We continue to submit it to all the friends of Come Rest. “Listen to Me. Really listen. Shut out the noise. Tune in to Me. Prepare. Make a list of your 12 favorite scripture passages from over the years between you and Me. Do the work. Make the list. Memorize them over the next six months. Work My words into your prayers and your witness each new day I give you. I will help you. You will become a deeper listener, prayer intercessor, and doer of My word. Are you up to it? I am! I repeat–Listen to Me. Prepare. Do the work. I will help you. It will be worth it. My joy and peace will overflow, no matter what. Those around you will begin to listen, too. I love you so.” (Is 55; Ps 34; John 10 & 15)
