Dear Friends,
One of my favorite Easter recordings is my Nicole C Mullin, “I Know My Redeemer Lives.” It really stirs me. Near the very end of the song, just as the song begins to fade out, Nicole spontaneously cries out, “I spoke with Him this morning!” Just busts me up. I cry every time. Why? Holy week isn’t about ritual, services, symbolism, or metaphors. It certainly isn’t about Holy Week or Christian history or even the end times. It’s all about a Crucified, Risen Lord. Risen Indeed. And yes, I spoke with Him this morning. And yes, He’s right here to speak with you now. Are you listening like a trusting child? Those who rest on His chest, will hear His Voice. Like Mary, He’s calling your name right now. Risen indeed.
The one clear word we have repeatedly heard from the Lord the last two weeks is, “Enjoy!” We submit this word to you. We understand this to mean Him saying, “As you fix your eyes on Me, enjoy Me. Enjoy your life in Me. Enjoy your blessings. Don’t let the thief rob you. I know what he is doing around the world. I know what to do about it. I’m doing it. All I have is yours. Enjoy Me. Rest in every test. I will help you. Enjoy.” This word is anchored in John 10:10, 1 Thess 5:16-18; Ps 16:11

Your one lovely opportunity to gather with other Come Rest friends this Easter week is TOMORROW, GOOD FRIDAY the 29th! We will again host a Come Rest Celebration of our Crucified Risen Lord! 5-10pm, here at Rehoboth. We’ll have a 530pm Co-op meal, 7pm Praise & Prayers, and 8-10 Fellowship! Let’s all bring food to share and grateful hearts! We’ll also provide paper goods, table service, drinks! We will have no Sunday groups the 31st, resuming on April 7th!

As we anticipate a fruitful new season of life and ministry, Kim and I have decided to upgrade cars. Our old car has been such a blessing for nine years, since the Lord led us to purchase it through our son Daniel who continues a successful career at Key Auto Mall in Moline. Now we’ve been led again to the right car through Daniel, who found us a great deal on an all-wheel drive vehicle. So we are privately selling our 2015 Chrysler 200C for $9,500. It is just under 96K miles, front wheel drive. If you know anyone who needs a car in that price range, they can call us at 319-213-5683. Our old car is affectionately named “Rocket Car” by our grandkids, because they and Grandpa have taken many “missions” to the moon for exploration and battles with moon monsters. 😊 Now it’s time for “Rocket Car 2”. Whether or not someone you know is interested in “Rocket Car One”, always remember Daniel Speight(319-389-7522) is available to you for new car sales/leasing and used car sales. Just a little pitch for our son, a faithful man of God.😊
